Glow In the Dark Undies

I know that title caught the eye of some of you. Ok admit it, most of you.
We went to Show Low today to take back the paint. And after shopping like a girl in the paint dept, I exchanged my Navajo White paint for some Ultra White that only cost me 4.20 a can!!! I know a steal. (and NO it is not cheap, just last year's cans on a brand that is changing the look of their cans)
I got 4 cans for the price of 1 of the other paint. Wow! I got to put the 50 dollers return money back on my credit card AND only pay 18 dollars for the new paint. Whooo Hooo. How does this relate to undies? It doesn't; I went to wal mart after to shop a little. I got a gift for wesie for helping put the cows back into the pasture 3 times the day before. I got him glow in the dark underwear. Who wouldn't want a pair with a heiney that small?

Navajo White is NOT White

Why do we have names for things that are not what they really are? Case in point, Navajo White paint. For any novice painter, it sounds romatic and interesting. Being married to a Navajo it sounded even a more appropriate color to choose for our remodeled master bedroom.
It isn't white or approprite or romantic.
What it is is cream and dirty "old-lace" colored.
Do white people think that Navajo's can't get white really white, or they don't know the difference because they are so brown?
I knew the difference as soon as I put a test patch on my base boards. I wanted contrast, what I got looks like it is dirty. Which, as a side bar, may not be bad for this team ropin' dirt collectin' family of 5. However, I want one place I can call my inner santum. AND, I wanted it tan on the walls, which I have, and white on the doors, trim and ceiling, which I do not have.
Well, Home Depot will take it back. I am looking for Ultra Pure White. Why don't they just call that "Honkey White" or "Glow in the Dark Ginee"? I told Scott I wanted to be in that room by Friday, carpet and bathroom or not. Now I have to make a trip to ShowLow to make it happen. I wonder if he even listened to me when I told him that Sunday. He probabally thought I was nuts.

Nov. 1st, Met "the boyfriend". I will edit this post later on with pics. He had to ask what I thought of him. I don't know what I think of him. Years ago I thought I liked my sister-in-law. That was a big mistake. She still is material for Jerry Springer episodes; she makes for great, shocking gossip. I like to think I learned a lesson with her and will take it slow with "the boyfriend". I do think it is potentially the end of the Nikki era at our house... more to tell in the future, but I feel sorry for my kids. They have had her all to themselves all their little, cute, selfish lives...

That's our number

the other night Kennedy was counting-I think she was doing her homework. She said something about a 3.

Wesie pipes up from in the living room. "Thats our number, huh Dad!"

Our brand is the ^3 (rafter 3). Good times with little kids. We have branded way to much in his little life. Now I wish he could count all the numbers correctly.

the anti-fight

Dedicated in memory of Stephanie NieNie's view on life:
I posted my scarcastic tale of fight #1, I want to also share how much I love him 1. because I can and 2. I don't want anyone to get the wrong Idea 'bout my love for Westly Scott Jr.

I love Jr for so many reasons.
I love him best when he will talk in the dark with me like I use to talk with my sisters. I think it is boring for him, but it is so connecting for me. I love it.
I love when he gets teary-eyed- esp in church. Seeing him do that for the first time was when I knew I was in love with him. I didn't even know him well. He wasn't even sitting next to me. I am not sure if he went to church with me or my roommate. I have a husband who can get in tune with the spirit.
I love when he prays or gives a blessing- see above.
I love when he blows off mistakes I make-like forgetting the cheese for his dip for his work lunch. His pet peeves are forgetting and not paying attention so it is nice when he can control those peeves.
I love to see his signature JR on items-like the gas register at Brides, aka Dimbats, aka Ashtons aka Mustang, aka the best ice in town, etc etc ( it has had many names) he is so cute and he is mine
I love to hear his laugh in a dark movie theater esp when noone else is laughing-we get the joke when the rest don't
I love it more when I know the audience is laughing because of his laugh-I am proud to be with him
I love to see him compliment someone's roping ability after he has had a rough go of it- I want to be like him
I love to see his kindness when he is tired- I aspire to that too but fall short
I love that he can ride a horse well-I love to watch him from behind
I love his fried eggs- after 10 years I am getting better at them too.
I love when he is all dressed up to go out. Man I know why I married him!
I love his choice in dinner places- we have tried many fun ones
I love knowing I can order for him -he is predictable (usually)
I love trying to "out-hot" him-figure it out yourself
I love our "10 and 10" game-we have not played in a while but it is my favorite memory from our short short dating career.
I love when he kisses on our kids and now to see him with Kelsey-too cute.
I love when he compliments Kennedy-she needs it and he gives good ones
I love when he smells- Funny huh- He is a hard working man and his "stink" is better than any other "stinky" man
I love when he can figure out stuff I can't- I can't be perfect all the time :)
I love when he buys me things I would never buy for myself- thanks for the ring babe and the belts and, and, and ...
I love that he likes me in glasses- who would think?
I love to dance with him-even if he thinks he isn't good at it
I love to see him use a chain saw-raw man power!!
I love his hair when he needs a hair cut-cute
I love that he can cut Wesie's hair- he is sexy when he does domestic things
I love when he drives fast and cuts up like a teen-ager. He has taught me so many bad habits
I love that he is a master camper I do the packing he does the settin up
I love his advise ( ususully-it keeps me grounded)
I love that he has a good job and is a good provider for our family we are so blessed even in these hard times
I love that he will take our son branding and on trips-he is a good dad making me a better mom
I love when he puts his hand on my leg in church I feel loved back
I love him because I can....

No comments please if this is not how you see it.

Here is a story given to me via email. If you don't agree with any part of it, just be glad we live in a country that allows both of us to have different opinions on everything.

A forwarded e-mail from retired Master Chief Mike Hobbs:
I put my carry-on in the luggage compartment and sat down in my assigned seat. It was going to be a long flight. 'I'm glad I have a good book to read. Perhaps I will get a short nap,' I thought.
Just before take-off, a line of soldiers came down the aisle and filled all the vacant seats, totally surrounding me. I decided to start a conversation. "Where are you headed?" I asked the soldier seated nearest to me. " Great Lakes Air Base. We'll be there for two weeks for special training, and then we're being deployed to Iraq ."After flying for about an hour, an announcement was made that sack lunches were available for five dollars. It would be several hours before we reached Chicago, and I quickly decided a lunch would help pass the time. As I reached for my wallet, I overheard the soldier ask his buddy if he planned to buy lunch. 'No, that seems like a lot of money for just a sack lunch. Probably wouldn't be worth five bucks. I'll wait till we get to Chicago .' His friend agreed.I looked around at the other soldiers. None were buying lunch. I walked to the back of the plane and handed the flight attendant a fifty dollar bill. 'Take a lunch to all those soldiers.' She grabbed my arms and squeezed tightly. Her eyes wet with tears, she thanked me. 'My son was a soldier in Iraq ; it's almost like you are doing it for him.'Picking up ten sacks, she headed up the aisle to where the soldiers were seated. She stopped at my seat and asked, 'Which do you like best - beef or chicken?' 'Chicken,' I replied, wondering why she asked.
She turned and went to the front of plane, returning a minute later with a dinner plate from first class. 'This is your thanks.'After we finished eating, I went again to the back of the plane, heading for the rest room. A man stopped me. 'I saw what you did. I want to be part of it. Here, take this.' He handed me twenty-five dollars.Soon after I returned to my seat, I saw the Flight Captain coming down the aisle, looking at the aisle numbers as he walked, I hoped he was not looking for me, but noticed he was looking at the numbers only on my side of the plane. When he got to my row he stopped, smiled, held out his hand, and said, 'I want to shake your hand.'Quickly unfastening my seat belt I stood and took the Captain's hand. With a booming voice he said, 'I was a soldier and I was a military pilot. Once, someone bought me a lunch. It was an act of kindness I never forgot.' I was embarrassed when applause was heard from all of the passengers.Later I walked to the front of the plane so I could stretch my legs. A man who was seated about six rows in front of me reached out his hand, wanting to shake mine. He left another twenty-five dollars in my palm. When we landed in Chicago I gathered my belongings and started to deplane. Waiting just inside the airplane door was a man who stopped me, put something in my shirt pocket, turned, and walked away without saying a word. Another twenty-five dollars! Upon entering the terminal, I saw the soldiers gathering for their trip to the base. I walked over to them and handed them seventy-five dollars. 'It will take you some time to reach the base. It will be about time for a sandwich. God Bless You.'Ten young men left that flight feeling the love and respect of their fellow travelers. As I walked briskly to my car, I whispered a prayer for their safe return. These soldiers were giving their all for our country. I could only give them a couple of meals.. It seemed so little... "A veteran is someone who, at one point in his life wrote a blank check, made payable to 'The United States of America for an amount of 'up to and including my life.' That is Honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it.'"
