Talking to myself, or am I?

Talking to myself has always been an activity I am used to: ie.

ME: "Turn to page 514 where we left off on line 20...."

"What page are we on?"

ME: "We are on page 514, line 20"

"What page is it, Mrs. Scarbrough?"

ME: "514, if you were listening the last two times"

"OH,"

"Hey, Mrs. Scarbrough, what page are we on?"

ME: "It's on the board, where if you would look everyday, you would know what we are doing."

"Where?"

ME: "UHH, sighh"

As you can see, I am good at talking to no one. :)

I have been talking to myself for 10 years, but more specifically, I have been having an ongoing monologue for 6.5 months with the cutest of persons.

I describe flowers, dogs, colors of the hay and horses. I tell her that what she is feeling is rough or fuzzy. I repeat the colors of the blankets, the sky, and the toys. I think teaching has prepared me to not even notice or mind that I do all the talking, in hopes someone is listening.

Already I am getting the "ma-ma, mmmm, Maaaa," much to the delight of my kids. They think her first word will be mama.

I think she will have much to say, just not right now.

I can wait. She is our last I want to enjoy ever little sticky, snotty, nuance that she has to offer.

Kelsey's Sunday

Not posted in a few days, it has been very busy around our house and I have been mulling over how and if to say all of what has been going on in and out of my head. I like the venue for writing but as I have discovered this isn't the place to let it all hang out like a fat lady in a tube top at the wal-mart.

However, I am a chicken who writes (one who maybe will never publish) but I feel the need to write for an audience.

With that said...here is the boring happenin's around the rafter 3. (our house, duh ;)

My mom got a job, finally.- I don't know the whole story reason of why she waited and why she did even though we talk every other day or so. I hope she is happy where she is. I still don't understand why or what went on at the last one, but they say the Lord works in mysterious ways.

Have my sister and brother in law living with/next to us for a short time.

No comment on how/why.

And finally, (drumroll please and loud sighs and clapping) Kelsey's first of many big days happened. I know some were not able to make it, but we had to get it done. It was good and very mellow in a spiritual kind of way. I am glad we do it at home. Now I just need to get all three kids' papers mounted and put in their rooms with the pic of them framed. I think it would be good to remind them of all the good spiritual moments in our house. 'Cause heaven knows, they need to off set the rude things we do to each other with the good moments.

The funny thing I noticed was how big the dress she wore really was. We put Kennedy in it at 6 weeks, it must have swallowed her, b/c Kelsey could fit it. Glad I got some pics.

Post ya later.

Fatty McFat Fat

The title is in tribute to my irreverent nephew, Jonathan. He always calls people that. I hope as a joke... His mother sure thinks it is funny. Anyway, today our baby went to the doctor. She has gained 3.5 lbs and 2 inches. All healthy except a cold. Oh, well.

Scott is in OKC still. He has not done so well. I am trying not to be disappointed. I paid tithing and fasted yesterday for Scott to win enough to pay 3 of our debts. I even tried making a deal with the Lord that if he allowed Scott to do that, I would start saving the $500 that winning would free up and have Scott do the same... I guess you can't make deals with the Lord. He probabally wants us to learn from our debt decisions the hard way. :(

Ahh! Sleep...

So I have not gotten much sleep since last Wednesday. Didn't know anyone could survive on 3-4 hours each night that long.

You would think that it is becasue of the baby, but not really! Scott has been working nights off and on this last week. I just don't sleep well if he isn't here. Dumb, huh?! ;) Well, knowing that I have become meaner and meaner ("Your a Meaner", ...can anyone name that movie?); I decided to make myself go to bed by 9. The baby got up at 11:30 and 1:30 AND THEN!!!... 6:30 this morning. I slept soooo good. Except, I had a crazy dream about trying to come up with a middle name for a baby named Rebel while I was in Las Vegas. (weird huh)

Grateful for a pandemic: it's my best life

As I lie in my bed on day 45 of stay safe stay home, reducing the curve with masks, I am brought to tears with gratitude, over again, for th...
